Shamala Architect is an architectural consulting firm providing architecture and interior design services. Founded by Ar.Ir Tenaya as principal architect, we evolved from Mahatanaya Studio (established 2012) and transformed in August 2025. We specialize in environmentally-conscious design using sustainable materials like bamboo, recycled wood, brick, and local materials with deep consideration for site character, local culture, and environmental systems.

Our design approach uses analogy concepts to create unique visual forms inspired by nature and philosophy. We prioritize environmental harmony through natural ventilation, rainwater management, organic waste systems, and minimal site disturbance. Every design maximizes natural light and ventilation while respecting the site's potential and local character.
We believe architecture must be felt in its comfort, possess spatial efficiency, display visual beauty, and create positive environmental impact. Our work demonstrates this philosophy across diverse project types — residential, hospitality, and community spaces — all designed with sustainable materials and systems that honor both environment and culture.
